Things looking very good for us (the purple dot)…still not so good for others. Here’s the latest map as of 6am this morning. The Witch fire is now headed due east, the Poomacha fire is headed east/northeast, and is very closing to joining with the Witch (which would make for a ~35 mile long front headed east). The Rice fire is now headed north/northwest and I-5 is shutdown north of SR-76 due to a new fire on Camp Pendleton and associated backfires (and smoke.) As for the Harris fire, large backfires set last night (as reported on KUSI) seem to have worked well and have all but directed the fire in a north/northeast direction.

Where can I find that overlay for Google Earth?
Thanks for this information. We’re in San Marcos, too, and we’re feeling VERY lucky.
haven’t been able to reach my sister in 3 days, nor has the family (in IL) heard from her.
she lives near Clairemont Mesa Blvd & Santos Rd in San Diego.
(I believe just a few miles north of Qualcomm Stadium)
was this area evacuated? is it in any danger?
thanks so much for your updates.
I’m from New York and do not know the San Diego area, so please forgive my ignorance.
(EDIT BY MIKE: Response sent to Angela directly via email)
