Quick update… looks like the fires are trending as predicted by my last map..we’re still in our house. The Witch fire is headed west past lake hodges into the area over the southern ridge from San Elijo Hills. On the other side, the fire continues to creep up around Escondido on the northeast side. Mandatory evacuations of Valley Center and Palomar Mountain are occurring now. Still further, word is they’ve evacuated the Hidden Meadows area along the east side I-15 near Deer Springs largely due to the new fire coming west/southwest down toward there (the Poomacha Fire -started ~3am this morning)..and a neighbor who just returned from that area says there’s a fire crew stationed at I-15 and Deer Springs next to the ARCO station watching things closely.
